Araza
Araza is another one of Hameas’s companions, a fierce and hotheaded origami woman with the skills and tenacity to back up her confidence. She seeks the Gauntlet as a means to prove herself and to bring glory to her country, the opposing world power to Iri’s home nation.
2025
My goal with Araza’s latest iteration was to make her less put together and more of a young hot head. I took away her braid, crumpled her wings, and gave her simple red scrubs rather than a put together blue uniform. I also took away her religious medallion which would later serve as a symbolic way to oppose to her country's ways. I still plan to return Araza to her previous design as her character grows and develops.
2024
After a few redrafts, I decided to change Araza from a humanoid with bird wings to a fully inhuman creature. This took the form of an origami crane woman. I found this version made for a more distinctive character, as well as helping highlight Hameas as the only “normal” one in the group.
