This piece is a turnaround featuring an original character of mine named Goph the Stair and demonstrating my ability to draw a complex character at multiple angles, and to communicate an intriguing story through visuals alone, in this case the question of the stairs on this character’s back.
As with many of my projects, the first step was consulting my journals. In this case I decided to combine two separate ideas of a Goat race called clovers and an old man with stairs on his back. After streamlining the designs in a digital setting, I was ready to animate.
